Vice President of Administration
John graduated in 2002 from Appalachian State University with a degree in Drafting & Design. He began his 13-year career in woodworking in a stair building shop in Charlotte, NC before coming to Rowland Woodworking in October of 2003. He worked for a time in the shop learning the ropes before moving into the office where his duties include estimating, drafting, and project management. John enjoys many aspects of woodworking, especially that each project provides its own unique challenges. He says of his work, " . . . some jobs are mostly functional cabinetry and others are high-end architectural millwork whose purpose is to be aesthetically pleasing. It is satisfying to have the opportunity to manage each one and know that no two jobs will be the same." His favorite species of wood is plain-sliced walnut.
John is married and has a daughter and son. He enjoys riding bikes, fishing, and cooking, especially with friends and family.
Born and raised in High Point, Jeff went to work at the age of 17 for Snow Lumber Company during their centennial year in 1980. He worked in various capacities before landing in the drafting department of the millwork division in 1983. In 1986, he left Snow Lumber to start his first company, Triad Drafting & Cabinets. He and his wife, Kristine, ran Triad Drafting until 2003 when the opportunity to purchase Rowland Woodworking came about.
Jeff currently serves as Carolinas Chapter AWI Treasurer and is active in the Architectural Millwork Institute.
Jeff and Kristine have been happily married for 26 years. In his down time, Jeff enjoys watching NASCAR and NFL Football. He also enjoys landscaping, gardening, and home-improvement projects - including building displays for his many collections of memorabilia.
A South Carolina native, Kristine has lived in High Point since her teen years and considers it her hometown. After completing her Interior Design and Architectural Technology degrees she joined the business (at that time Triad Drafting and Cabinets) full-time in 1997. She wears different hats at Rowland Woodworking, heading up the Purchasing and Human Resources Departments and performing other administrative duties.
She is currently the President of the Carolinas Chapter AWI and Technical Chair of the SkillsUSA North Carolina Cabinetmaking Competition. She is active in the Architectural Woodwork Institute, serving on several committees including the SkillsUSA Cabinetmaking Committee, and the Board of Directors from 2013 to present.
When not working, Kristine loves reading, cooking, home improvement projects, spending time with family, and being with her three Italian Greyhounds, Tristan, Finn, and Fiona.
